C# Beginner

I actually have no experience programming and was wondering if there was other languages I must grasp before entering C#? If not I would greatly appreciate any help that guides me to me understanding this language.

You dont HAVE to know any other languages to start learning any language. Understanding the logic that is in ALL languages can be useful. By logic I mean if statements, loops, exceptions, variables, and things like that.

as the above said you do not need to know anything before begining C#. it is recomended however that you learn pseado code. Or in other words exacly what the guy above me said. Do you have visual studios.Net ? You will want to start with learning to code console applications. I sudgest buying a book and working through it cover to cover, make sure to do most of the extercises through out the book. .... I will try to give you the name of a good book later i can not fined it at the moment.

There was a good C# ebook floating around here a while back... someone here may still have it...

I like Microsoft's books C# Step by Step, then I started reading C# The Language. I have yet to fiish them but I used the same books when I was learning VB.NET, and they worked good.

I have recently purchased Visual Studios. Thanks for the responses, although some book recommendations would help also.

I still have it. I also have a game programming book using C# that someone was kind enough to share. Drop me a PM if you're interested and I'll pass them along.

peace_of_mind I sent you a PM, thanks a lot.

The non-Microsoft published C# Specification surely won't ever let you down.

Thank you everyone for your guidance, I greatly appreciate it. I also have another question, the Pseudo code talked about in this thread. Is there books to learn this also? because I have no knowledge of this either.

Thanks again!
