Custom Movie Subscription Channel

Hey yall, I've been thinking. I dont know about yall, but it seems all the networks lke tbs, fx, etc always have on the same tv shows, and movies. It's so bad I just watch the news, G4, or the Current Channel.

So I was sitting here thinking like I mentioned above, and thought to myself, why couldnt there be a subscription channel where I request movies I want to watch. So I thought about it some more and thought it would be a great idea. So do any of yall think you or anybody would use a service like this if one was avaliable.

There could be many different ways to do it, but I was thinking of maybe an access username and usercode, and the nthey request the movie they want to see, and it is shown. One of the problems I was thinking of it having, is maybe issues with the studio by which th emovie was produced,

But just leave some ideas and thoughts, this will probably never be a reality but I just curious, and bored, so I figured I'd ask. Thanks

*coughs*

Pay-per-view? Netflix? Isn't that what you're talking about?

it already exists in two forms

1. Comcast has digital servers that server all TV channels to customers who subscribe to the digital service. you can request movies from them using their "On Demand" feature. By using on screen menu's you can pick a movie or even a TV show to watch when ever you want to. some movies and shows are only available for periods of time.

2. there are some online companies that allow you to download movies and you can watch them for a week or so(DRM filled i immagine). i dont know the name of the company but several ppl have told me about it.

I know there is Pay-per-View but that is only new movies. I was thinking of something thats totally under your control. If you don't find nothing interesting on TV, and are in the mood for a good John Wayne, or Jackie Chan movie, you could go here select it to be played, and watch it like that.

But I guess comcast has already done something like that. Thanks
