Teaching yourself PHP for idiots
 

I have been studying PHP part time off and on for a month or so and I get it a little, but I really want to know how to build software and I am pretty much the world's most novice programmer.

Does anyone out there know of the best free way to learn PHP in a pratical environment. Please do not point me to php.net...i really can't navigate to well there. Anything else would be very much appreciated.

So far, there are 10 videos up, around 10-20 minutes each, and they talk you through the bare basics, including navigating the php.net site !!

Your goal is not to learn PHP. Your goal is to learn how to solve problems. If you don't get that, you're toast.

However to learn how to solve problems with PHP, woocha must learn at least some PHP.

I can see how asking for a resource as obvious as a good tutorial could be seen as a lack of ability to solve a problem.

I guess my argument is flawed at this point, i really don't see how i could continue it without making assumptions about all parties involved. As such, Lets wait and see shall we?
