Microsoft's Advertising Framework.
Hey I ran across this from a guy on IRC. I guess it's an advertising framework, some guys from MS developed. In case you don't want to read 11 pages I'll sum it up for you.
The Advertising Framework, scans your computers files, including their contents, and looks for "keywords." The info is then relayed back to MS who will sell the words to companies, who in turn will send you ad's to buy stuff kind of like those banner's saying "Click here to claim your free PS3" Now MS hasnt stated whether they will include it with their OSes, or if they will sell it to other companies to include with their applications, or whatever. But from what I understand it's integrated. So it cant be turned off. If they start using this, that is the day I leave windows forever, unless they stop using it of course. Then yall wouldn't get to see me no more, because I cant find a linmodem anywhere. But here is the link, they have applied for a patent I dont know if it has passed or what. http://appft1.uspto.gov/netacgi/nph-...DN/20070157227 |
