Looking for a good C/C++ editor/compiler/combo

Hey, engineering student starting to learn C and C++ and i'm looking for a good compiler/text editor and anything else i might need to get started soft-ware wise. I'm also looking for a few hard-copy resources so if anyone knows a good comprehensive text for C/C++ i would appreciate it:p

Compiler: CodeBlocks or Visual C++ Express Edition

thanks man i'll check it out, i assume it works for C++ alone?

ReggaetonKing Jul 30th, 2007 8:47 PM

No. I think both Visual C++ and CodeBlocks work with both C and C++.

You might want to read the FAQ/Rules and the "How to Post" thread. Just a random idea.

I'll second IR's suggestion. If I'm not mistaken Dev-C++ has a tutorial under it's help menu as well. As for resources, aside from this forum: programmingtutorials.com, cprogramming.com, and programmersheaven.com has some tutorials and source code you can look over.
