VB Graphing Calculator

1 Attachment(s)
this is what i have so far. the only buttons that work are plot and max/min.
and linear functions dont work right but i will fix that later (i know how to fix it but right now i have tons of HW to do). i will update the attached exe (in the zip archive) in a lil bit with a lot of initial changes that will make linear functions work but i thought i might as well jsut show u this preliminary version. i will continue to update it as i work on it and release an actual fully funcioning calculator when im done.

does it suck or its just not interesting? has anyone used it? please, i need feedback.... UPDATE TWO WITH TABLE FUNCTION NOW!!!

It doesn't suck, it's just not really useful yet. All it does is plot quadratic functions with all positive terms.

I do however think it's interesting. I'm working on a somewhat similar project myself.

This is what it looks like currently:

PM me or send me a message on AIM if you're interested in knowing more about it. Love to chat about the subject.

negative terms work too...but thank you! finally someone tried it out. and yes i would also be very interested in discussing this with you so i can learn a lot more about it.

It doesn't suck, it just in its early stages!

I wrote a graphing calculator many years ago. Here are some screen shots. Mine does 3D graphs as well as 2D graphs. Some of the graphs look quite impressive, but it was actually very simple to do, it uses OpenGL. Since OpenGL takes care of the rendering, the code which draws the graphs is quite simple and short. The hardest part was creating an 'engine' to interpret the equations.

Duck, is there any chance I could get that program?

Duck Feb 25th, 2007 4:27 PM

I'll give out the program, but not the source code. But before I give it out I want to make sure my name and other details are in 'help-about'. So I'll put it on here after I've done a re-compile.

wow duck that owns

Duck Feb 25th, 2007 4:33 PM

Thanks.
