Torque Programmer Needed

I need a coder that is fairly experienced in the Torque engine, good enough to code for a game. I represent a game called OutBurst, a bleach-inspired MMORPG in the works in its alpha stage. We are a bit short on coders at the time and need a few. If you are a decent programmer in Torque, then please, do not hesistate to contact me at:

MSN: fruitloop810@yahoo.com
e-mail: fruitloop810@yahoo.com

However, I would most rather you discussed the matter with me on MSN, as I am on it a large portion of the day.

Thank you for reading

Alright, just to let you all know, I am not a DEV, but just a member representative. I never meant to act like a DEV either, so I'm sorry if I mislead you.

Also, you can find the site at www.outburst-online.com/forums

Any good reason you couldn't be bothered to find the Job Offers forum? Is this indicative of your ability to assume responsibility for running or recruiting for a project? Just curious.

How many job offers are there for coding MMORPGs every day? I think a count should be enacted.

Not trying to bag on you in particular, but we get a lot of these types of requests. It would be nice if we could get just a bit more information on the game, however.

I have a few questions and suggestions. First, why are you guys planning on using Torque? Its really outdated and you can not create a game that is even close to as visually appealing as newer PC games have become using it. It doesn't support alot of new graphics techniques. If anything you should use the Torque shader engine or try to get a programmer with experience in C/C++ with Opengl/DirectX who can actually take on Torque from the source code level and do something with it. Second, Torque is not a free engine and it's licensing is not per project, It sells licenses per developer. Meaning any developer that you recruit would have to pay for it. Are you guys planning on picking up the tab for this? And lastly, why post a link to a website where everything is closed off on? With no details of the progress of the game where the public can view it. It looks as if you have no work on the game finished.

I also forgot to mention that the networking module provided in torque is not well suited for an MMO either.

Correct. The Torque engine is not suited for MMO games. But with some modifications it is possible though. Check out the MMO game Dreamlords at http://www.dreamlords.com , which uses this engine.
