A newbie in need of 2 simple scripts...

Hi, I am new here and I hope I get to learn some programming...

Anyhow, I need 2 scripts for my website (its about education):

¤ One which tells you how fast you read by using a button to start a timer and somehow count the words and then give you a value of how many words you read per minute.

¤ A script to help you remember things. I want to be able to fill in a couple of items (to remember) in a box, set a timer on how fast I want to remember the selected items. For instance if I add 10 items and select 1 minute to remember them the items will disappear when 1m has passed after I pressed start. I will then fill in the 10 items from memory and when I press submit a screen will tell me which ones I got right and vice versa.

Is this difficult to make? Thank you in advance, nice forum ^^

Um, I hope you don't expect us to write it for you without pay. We'll help you develop the code, answer questions, and help with errors and difficulties, but I won't do it for you. I mean really, do you think we'll do the work for you when it seems you don't even know javascript or any script? I can't help until you make an attempt to do it yourself.

How much would that cost me?

Ha ha. Not me, you can negotiate with others though.

Sure, but how much (in your opinion) should I pay? Approximately : )
Thanx for feedback

What you're requesting is easy, so I'd do both for like 10 or 15 however I felt that day.

You applications you mention would use JavaScript, not Java. The two are very different. Your best bet would be to browse free scripts from sites like The JavaScript Source and adapt them to your purposes. I expect these scripts would be fairly trivial to write from scratch, provided you are familiar with JavaScript, which I (unfortunately) am not.

I knew that, I apologize for starting a thread in a wrong category. Any mod here who could move it?

BTW, I agree with you yea I doesn't sound all that difficult if you know java script...
