Source Code from Schildt's Book
 

I know this is a long shot but does anyone by chance have, or know where to find, the source code from Herbert Schildt's book "The Art of C"? ISBN is 0-07-881691-2 and it was published a long time ago by Osborne. I have the book and the disk - but it's a 5.25" disk (!) and have no way to convert. :(

I've looked at his home page which refers you to the Obsorne site which says that the book/code are no longer available. I've also done a Google search with no luck.

If anyone has any further ideas on where this code might be found, I'd appreciate all thoughts.

..Thats pretty old, why not get a newer version. You could probably find an e-book (being so old and whatnot) on Google.

Hmm, that book was written during Herbie's "formative" years. In other words, I suspect the code is 100% crap and you wouldn't want it in the first place. However, to be sure, I've ordered myself a copy from Amazon for $0.57... His "Art of C++" and "Art of Java" texts were rather lame and childish, so I'm not really expecting much. But it should be good for a laugh.

57 cents!?!? Ahahaha. Isn't that cheaper than the paper and bindings?

Is there no way to get a serious answer on these forums? It seems to me as if everyone is out looking for a chance to be a total jerk with derisive comments and holier-than-thou pronouncements. I asked about the code for a reason - which is really none of your business - and was hoping for some assistance rather than ridicule and snide, rude remarks.

That's it - between the nasty arrogance of DaWei and the nonsense that seems to flow like sewage from everyone else, I see no need to continue my membership on any of these forums. You folks just aren't worth the time and aggravation.

From the searching I did I don't think you are going to find the code unless someone has it stored somewhere but I don't really think you will find it. But http://books.mcgraw-hill.com does have code for its newer books. I didn't see anything for the Art of C though only for the Art of C++ Sorry but I don't think you are going to find what you are looking for, but then again anything is possible.

As for the snide remarks I didn't see anyone jumping on you. They just gave you there opinions, sorry if you thought that they were being mean but they were just stating what they thought.
