Drop Down Menu with POST to php or html
 

Hey Hey,

I'm trying to take input from a drop down menu, have visitors write some text, then hit submit and have it written to a file (php, html).

You may remember "www.jumptheshark.com did it like that.

example: choose a show - write some comments about the show - click - submit - have the comments written to a file (php, html)

The drop down menu will be very long, and there will be many files written on the server.

My host is linux based.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Hey, Hey. You don't say what you want an answer to, merely what you wish to do. That brings one to ask, "Do you have a clue?". Do you understand the client/server paradigm?

Anyways, as for the OP, what you need to look at is GET and POST. They both do the same thing, but in slightly different ways. Google php tutorials on those topics, and try a simple script. Try and pass some data, and print it to the screen. When you have accomplished that, research on how to read/write to files.
