Windows Media Center Recorded TV
This doesn't have a lot to do with programming and I didn't know which forum to place it in, so I decided that the Lounge would be the best place for it.
A few days ago, one of my favourite TV shows was on, but I had to miss it. However, my dad's computer has a TV Tuner and Windows Media Center, so I got him to record it. I thought that maybe instead of just watching it on the computer, I could burn it to a DVD and watch it on my TV. However, the file is recorded as .dvr-ms, and I'm almost certain that it doesn't work on DVD players.
So, I've been looking all over the internet for a free program that will convert it to an MPEG-2 format, but I have so far failed. I have found one program called Digital Media Converter, but it costs $40 USD. I downloaded the trial version and converted it, but when I went to play it, it said "Digital Media Converter - Trial Version" in big green text across the whole movie.
So my question is, does anyone know of any free software that I could use for this? I have been searching quite a bit, and I haven't found anything that's actually worked.
