Spam Experiment

This has probebly been done before, but I was bored and wanted to see the results for myself. I decided to create a junk email account but with the sole purpose of trying to get as much spam has possible as quickly as possible. Feel free to post this all over the web and sign it up for stupid services. I want "real" spam (if that makes sense) only. I don't want average people emailing the account. Only things from spambots. I also want to see as part of this experiment, how much of the spam yahoo's spam filter catches and also how many viruses I recieve. I'll keep track of statistics and let you know how it goes...

Oooo, this sounds fun. I'll find a bunch of stupid spammy things to sign up for, hehehehehe. :)

you're just too lazy to find your own pr0n, aren't you? :p

hahaha

lol, No. I have my own sources for pr0n. I will keep track though of how much pr0n I get. Also, you can sign me up for stuff, although don't sign up for mailing lists or stuff where the entire purpose is to get email. I want to see how much unsoliciated (sp?) email I get. Like from spambots coming across the address on websites and stuff. I already create a geocities with the account where I posted my email in plain text. So far I have only gotten 2 emails and one of them made it to the inbox.

Lets get everyone to pitch in and see if we can crash the yahoo servers :P

I just clicked like 5 of those free ipod links and signed you up for all of them. Enjoy.

I know it's been about 7-8 months since this thread was opened, but I just found it and was wondering what the stats were so far, or if you've just given up on it.

I suggest adding up the length you would gain if you replied positively to all Viagra emails. I'm rather curious how much that's gonna be :D.

an email address with a constant flood of genuine spam is VERY useful for training spamassassin.

How would we use that e-mail to help train spamassassin? Maybe I'll look stupid for asking because I've never configured spamassassin.
