Hi All,
Being Windows systems administrator,i am interested in learning scripting to automate my job........can any one suggest me with best scripting (perl or python)....i am new to programming Regards, Kanthi Kiran N |
VB.net is supposed to be good for Windows based system administration (as I am told). Python is also a good language to work with if you want to get into scripting, very powerfull language.... however Perl is good too... probably easier to learn Python and you can do just as much with it :P

I'd say Python. But that answer is based on nothing. All the languages that kurifu suggested will work just as good as the other.

Python is a very powerful scripting language. Having already taught myself Python, and currently looking into Perl, Perl is the harder and more cryptic of the two to learn. Some may argue that perl may be more powerful, but I think Python and Perl can go pretty hand in hand.

look into ADSI and LDAP if you plan on coding hard-core windows scripts.
