Help Wanted

Project name: SPQR

Brief description:
We are working on a fantasy mmorpg.

Target aim:
Our end goal is to make the client freeware but charge a small monthly fee for playing the game.

Compensation:
If any royalties come of this we will divide them between all those involved.

Technology:
Modelling is being done is 3ds max.
Although we originally had been intending to use the Kaneva game engine, after some discussion we decided that it would be best to put the choice of an engine in the hands of a programmer. (ie if you join the project one of your first duties will be to decide what engine we are using)

Talent needed:
At the top of our list of priorities is to add one or more programmers to our team.

Team structure:
Sean Henderson - game designer
Coleman Black - modeller
Greg McLean - 2D artist
Josh Parker - world builder

Other notes:
We have done hundreds of hours of work on modelling and design, but are quickly running up against a wall because of our lack of programming skills. Although we have done a lot of work already we are very negotiable about things and would be willing to make changes if thats what is necessary to make our vision your vision as well.

What the hell is an 'SPQR'?

It's the project name.
There's so many different and strange projectnames, so what's wrong with 'SPQR'?

I think he was asking what it stood for in which case I would also like to know. I hope I'm not the only one who thinks this is going to be another one-day-wonder. No offense to the original poster, but this board gets a lot of those. The GameDev website is even worse. They get a handful per day. My two all time favorites from GameDev however was a guy who quit his first person shooter after 3 days and then started a MMORPG. Another guy quit his MMORPG after 2 days because he was an "expert" hired by a "professional game company". Translation: Mom says I have to go outside and get a girlfriend, so I won't have time to work on my game. =(

Wow. Might want to rethink this one, this is a good way to not get playing "customers".....

I was asking what it stood for? Also, do you really think this mmorpg will be better than the other 100's out there? It's gona have to top World of Warcraft, or Everquest to make any money/get alot of players.
