Aliza

Hello, all. Does anybody know what ALIZA is? I'm taking up the course "Current trends in Information Technology", and there's this word, ALIZA, which I can't find the meaning to. I've Googled it, and all I can find out is that it is an Artificial Intelligence language. that's about it. The library's no good either. Does anyone know what ALIZA is?

Did you mean, "Eliza"?

alphonso Jun 27th, 2006 8:10 PM

Eliza? Oh ok, typo there. Thanks, DaWei. Lemme Google it. Thanks

I hope you didnt mean ALICE, because if you did I would recommend dropping that class right now. It's a very poor method of learning programming.

nope, it's not ALICE. It's ELIZA, alright. Just found out that it's a program that tries to interact with human relations, sort of like a psychotherapist, but not in the sense that it's an alternative. By the way, what's ALICE? Is it really THAT bad a prolan?

Are you joking me? I just googled this Eliza, and if anybody uses it as a therapist they should be shot to further the advancement of humanity by cleansing the gene pool.

Try typing "My mother hates me", to ELIZA.
You get some ... ehm, different answers than a real therapist would give you.

Eliza is twice as old as any of you and an early attempt with AI principles. I advise you not to rely on the similar program that decides if you should be spayed or neutered.

Eliza: Can you elaborate on that?

I think I would appreciate a more confrontational Eliza that replies with questions like:
What's it to you?
Who's asking?
What do you think?
Why?
Does it look like I care?
Why are you still Talking to me?
