$$$$$$ Question

How do you make money from owning a forum? Is advertising the main method? Then how much is it for a normal banner ad?

Thanks,
Ben

Why is this in the PHP forum? It isn't about PHP and it isn't a technical question. I'd suggest that you ask a forum owner by private communication. If not that, at least put it in a non-technical forum such as the lounge. You should feel silly, putting this here.

If that really is all you had to say, why not just PM me? It wasn't very polite to post such a reply, and you should feel silly doing so. Or, you could have just reported me. If you really did not feel this post was worth your time, then you could have also ignored it, which you obviously overlooked.

I meant that you could have reported me if it really bothered you to that extent.

No need to report you. I COULD lend you a brain cell, but I wouldn't want it to be lonesome.

DaWei is a respected member, also his comments are true. The PHP forum wasn't the place for this thread.

As far as your question, yes IMO a forum only makes money from ads. Or if it was a pay to play type forum where you have to buy a membership (which isn't cool IMHO). Ofcourse i am not the best source of information, since i am only a mod.
