No Sound
For some stupid reason my built in speakers on my laptop are not making sound anymore! Nothing is muted everything is fine... no sound! Even when i plug in head phones im getting nothing! What could cause this?
Sound drivers installed correctly? Try reinstalling them. Mobo chipset drivers installed?

How old is the laptop? Maybe its fucked forever?
3 months old?
Are you sure there's no software mute?
If you're using KDE, try using KMix. If you're not using KDE and using ALSA, try using alsamixer. |

If you've got your sound icon in the system tray, right click it and select 'Open Volume Control'. This should give sliders for all the different things, like so:

maybe your headphones are muted? lol.... or just do what pharaoh suggested.
