The Fly Game

This is an idea that I came up with:

A bunch a flys flying around trying to get at food. They eat this food (sugar cubes) for energy (to fly). The one who stays in the air the longest wins. If one fly is hit by another then the fly that was hit loses balance and falls. Once a fly falls it's out of the game. I think this will be a good game to kill time at work where you are constantly board or at the computer lab. You will be able to kill the game by pressing Esc so your boss doesn't see you playing it but, of course, he'll probably want to play it.

sounds like a good game to start out with, not to big of a project....great for learning

What language do you plan on using to write this in?

Sounds cool! You could start it in C++ with the console, and gradually work your way up to making it a Win32 application. :)

That is a very strange and interesting idea. I think you should do it! When you get rich off the 3D version with levels and stuff just make sure to send some money this way.

this also sounds like an excellent algorithmic paradigm to the problem of cpu multitasking/hyperthreading, etc.

dining philosophers anyone?

so it's definately worth even just thinking about the difficulties involved in a scenario where EVERYONE wins/ties, whatever.

whatever, just a thought.

Sounds like a good idea, and I agree with prm753. If it's as good as your worm wars, it'll be a big hit if you make it graphical.
