What IDE/Compiler should I use to develop C++?
Hi,
I am starting to learn c++ and I'm wondering what is the best platform/compiler to use? I don't want to outlay a lot of money on this but I do want something that is worth setting up. I tryed using PCGrasp but I could not get the compiler installed corredctly. Could someone on here please advise me as to what IDE and setup I should be using? Many thanks in advance. FM |

I personally would recomend dev-c++ by bloodshed.

I didn't mind microsoft's VC++, but you'd have to pay for that...normally...;) dev-c++ is also a thumbs up.

use dev-c++

vi and gcc

Look around...

I used to use dev-cpp but when I made the switch to code::blocks I never went back. Try dev-cpp, then try code::blocks, then make your pick.

If you've got money to burn, get Visual Studio 2005. Otherwise, and if you have no sense of morality, pirate it. Otherwise I'd go with Dev-C++ if you're on Windows. For Linux, I don't know.
