Gamedude, come on. I know you're a kid and idealistic (13 is still a kid). I'm 19 and have been messing with computers for almost 15 years now, the last 3 of which have dealth with programming, networking, graphics and web hosting. You can't master it all. It would take a lifetime just for that.

If you're serious about this you need 1)planning, 2)*EXCELLENT* management skills, 3)some starting capital (i.e. at least $5,000), 4)extensive skill development and 5)the ability to take advice from people other than "your knower."

Even though you're 13 I won't presume upon your skills beyond what I've seen first hand, being your forums... ahem. However, you need to do alot of learning on alot of things and you need to save up alot of money and prepare yourself to invest thousands of hours. I forget who mentioned it earlier but you seriously need to expect to spend over $250,000 to get this anywhere near completion.

My current job threw me a book on ASP and told me to make them some tools. They did the same with ASP.NET. I've stumbled and I've made a couple things. BUT! my point is this. This August will be two years at my current job and I've barely got two programming platforms down to the point where I don't scream in horror when I'm asked to make something.

It takes time and patience.

Good luck.

gamedude, if you really want to do this project, your best bet would be to sit down, and write your storyline. Save it for a later date when you have the time, skills, and whatever to actually complete it. I know how badly you want to do this, but you will simply waste your time.

I'm about to make fun of you and generally be a bastard. I try not to make fun of ignorant people, but you're ignorant AND stubborn, which makes you fair game in my book.

Point 1: Your C++ CD has a hole through it (I'm not even going to ask what a "C++ cd" is or discuss the many levels of stupidity inherent in this statement) and you can't afford a new one, but somehow you can afford to put on a huge project costing millions of dollars?

Point 2: If you don't have time to learn a single programming language (no, Macromedia Anything does not count, nor does GameMaker), you don't have time to run a HUGE programming team, especially one composed of volunteers.

Point 3: You are an idiot, and idiots usually do not produce successful games.

Point 4: You say that nobody would make games if they were to cost a million dollars or more. You're quite lucky that I don't sue you for every dime of the medical costs incurred from my massive seizures and heart attack brought about by laughing so damn hard at this statement. Apparently you have no concept of money, at all.

Point 5: All games of the caliber you're talking about are produced by big companies with lots of money, and I guarantee that none of them are going to agree to produce your game. There are no indie games on the level of Doom 3, without exception, and you think that you, with no programming experience, will be able to produce one with effectively no money.

We don't have the twist yet post that in suggestions board also and sorry for the spelling errors.

A lot of idiots make games. Just look at the makers of Halo 2 and red faction 2. They both went from great games to garbage.
