Gui Tutorials

Does anybody know of any good tutorials to learn how to program in GUI. I've been taking a high school C++ class, where we've just began programming in gui. However, the gui library that comes with the book is horrible and it really only compiles properly with Visual C++. Besides, it has limited functionality, and I really wanted to know if there are any good sites that teach you how to program in GUI.

It depends on the library. I'm fond of wxWidgets, because it's easy to learn, with very good documentation, it's similar to MFC and works natively on all platforms.
