Hey Bud.
Welcome to the forums. If you really want to get into programming (even game programming fo rthat matter), I suggest you first make sure you understand basic concept, logic and theory of programming. make sure you know loops, conditional statements, and all the basics taht apply to every langauge. If you got that, it's a small move to C++ or any language. It's all about learning the new code. Try C++, if you can figure it out, C# and Java will be a breeze, and you will have more skills with you. Then, once you feel comfortable, Move to game programming. Begin with 2d, and then head to 3d. This is just my 2 cents. But I think everyone will agree with me when I say take your time, and take the time to actually learn how it's done. Don't be like some members around here who constantly post questions, without checking google, or trying it themselves. Stay motivated, and work on one program (and language) at a time. ![]() Good luck, Enjoy! |

Yeah I started learning C first because that had really helped me and got more really into C++. Yeah the reason I got into using C++ is because im learn C++ to start for gaming programming probably AI programming or something else so I needed to know C++ for that even though you can pretty much do it in C but C++ is morely recommended for gaming,

C++ deffinatly is best for what your looking for. All other languages are insupurb (I hope I spelled that right) to C++. That is my opinion. The functionality of C++ is unbelievable if you know how to use it right...

All other languages are good at what they do, same as C++. Thing is, C++ does a lot. Because it's so general-purpose, however, it's more of a jack-of-all-trades. You wouldn't catch me writing a .NET application in it.

I don't actually know much about WinFX, apart from the fact that we can't see it working yet. Mind filling me in?

but since I've allready started with c and then when i'm done with c I move on to c++? how about that? I'm open.. but really want to learn c just to have a programming language, and i've allready started out really good (at least that's what i think
) and if I understand you right, then c is the basic stuff, so wouldn't it be best to actually know at least a bit of it?-thondal-
