The "Wordware Programming/Development Library" books are decent. I learned PASCAL/Delphi from a few of 'em.

I am loving C++ Primer Plus, by Steven Prata, and published by Sams.

It is about 1000 pages, and it amazingly complete.

Plus, it has a 5 star rating on amazon. My only complaint would be that you should have a bit of programming knowledge, or else you will be lost.
