Newbie question
I just started programming in PHP today and I was wondering, is it possible to make PHP webpages without using Apache, Xitami, etc.?

Depends. Are you personally hosting this webpage, or are you using a web host?

I'm using a web host.
EDIT: Is it necessary to download PHP or MySQL? |

The webserver needs to have PHP (and MySQL if you're using that as well) installed. Otherwise, it won't be able to do the server-side processing. You shouldn't need to install them on your computer unless you decide to run a server for yourself.
