Forum Log

Okay... It's not actually an idea for a program, but I think since there is so much excellently worded and thought out pieces of information throughout this forum, it would be benificial to create a "log". All the helpful posts could be catagorized by language, so as to promote quick and easy viewing. The author's name for the post should also be included. This would help decrease the number of repeated posts in the forum as well. kinda like a knowledge base type deal.

So in other words, a search function for "important" topics? Doesn't seem too great of an idea considering "important" topics to some people will be shit to another. I don't see how this could be put to use, but that's just me.

there is the rate thread option which is kinda similar to your idea, although its not used too often.

Desktop Google does it for me. You have to enable "Web History."

you could also compile a compendium of "stupid funny" posts. although you could probably just search for dawei or bl00dninja to get most of those...

:p

yeah, within each thread there may be one or two real good "answers". the problem is that the choice is partially subjective. and also that someone would be tasked to do this over thousands of threads.

People, being ego-centric, tend to forget that there are over 7 billion copies of themselves hanging around. Original ideas are thin on the ground. That's one reason there are more ditch-diggers than zillionaires.
