I will pay someone to do this through paypal
I'm making an website that is selling an ebook, i have a download page with it. I just want to prevent the downloader from sending the download page link to other people, or posting it on forums. I will pay someone $6 to come up with a script for this.

No offense Doug, but I don't think $6 is worth anyone's time and effort. I will do it for $50.

There's nothing you can really do to prevent this. As long as there is a way to gain access to the material, there will also be a way to copy it. Especially if it's just a word document.
If you want to make money off the ebook: I'd suggest selling hardcover copies online, putting advertisements on your site, and accepting PayPal donations. But keep the ebook free, unless you find some magical way to make it copy protected. The only kind of protection I could see possible is if .pdf supports password protected documents. But they would still be able to tell other people the password... |

Yeah definitely. He shouldn't even need a programmer to make that. Just like thirty minutes of research and a tolerance for learning.
That won't really help though. Since as soon as it's downloaded, it could be hosted elsewhere. Oh well. If you'd like someone to make it, I guess I could be your man. Do you need it done in PHP? What languages does your server support? Edit: So is this what you wanted? http://jammersbase.ath.cx/superfly The password is password. Last edited by Sane; Apr 8th, 2006 at 3:10 PM. |

Yeah it supports php, i would seriously offer more money but my funds are low, its not cheap marketing or advertising even on the Internet. I have sold ebooks in the pass, the production costs are extermely cheap compared to the offline version. I also now that there is no way to prevent people from shraing your ebook, thats the risk of intellectual property but something is better than nothing. Sane e-mail me at info@cardiacgym.com i will explain it in more detial. Personally i would just like an expiration code on the download page. If you do a good job i will refer you to some of my friends and will hire you for more expensive jobs in the future.

Hahahahah! Hidden inside that measly $6 PHP job, was free access to a very useful package of ebooks, totalling over 1000 pages, and valued at over $600. Hahaha!!
As well, it has entered me in to an affiliate programming market where I will now get paid, through superflytrainer, to do work for many other people in his business. Now, that's what I call karma! ![]() Last edited by Sane; Apr 15th, 2006 at 1:20 PM. |

Haha. You heard about that? From Cold Death right? Haha. Yeah, I guess this makes up for that.
![]() I take the crazy job offers because I'd do it for free anyways. It's all about gaining experience for me. |
