CSS: Gaps between DIVs...?

I am redesigning my personal website, in which I am using CSS for the layout. I am relatively new to CSS and I have came across a problem that I can not wrap my mind around, yet...

Anyone know what causes gaps between DIVs?

For an example: http://www.jasonpowers.net/_new/

The gap is below the right side menu... (rside-bar) and above the footer on the right of the screen near the bottom. I need to get rid of the gap or at the very least fill it in with the same background color as the menus.

The CSS file can be viewed here: http://jasonpowers.net/_new/main.css

Also, take a look at my old site, link in my sig, and the new site... let me know which one you think looks better... the links aren't operational, and I haven't ran it through the W3C validator... but I will work it out after I get the layout down right.

Thanks for any input.
