I think it's a great idea, I'm waiting for the battery life to be extended to the "all-day" which was said was 9 - 12 hours and the costs to drop.

I like it for the following reasons:
1) Not as small as a PDA or phone
2) Has Windows XP Tablet PC Edition 2005 OS
3) Not as large as a laptop/notebook
4) Battery life was said to be "all-day" (9 - 12) hours
5) Cheap, they said it would be around 500 dollars, expected new releases are going to be 599 - 999.
Unlike the Tablet PC this could be a big deal/seller if points 4 and 5 will be realised.
These things remind me of StarTrek, where all people on board of the starships walk around with those small tablets.
BTW: Microsoft is NOT making it, it is just an idea of Microsoft that other hardware makers (Samsung, Asus to name two) will release.
