Its not like everyone at MSFT makes $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$/yr or anything... 6 figures, perhaps... over 200k, not so many... (not counting options or benefits, since I have no idea how those fit in)

And in case you hadnt noticed, just because you work for a multi-billion dollar company does not entitle you to a percentage of the companies profits (unless you own stock in it). Thats just not how it works. You get paid to work, the company makes money from your work. If you want in on the company profits, buy stock (assuming of course, that it's a public corporation).

There was the dispute between MSFT and GOOG a few months back over some employee moving from one to the other. I'm not suprised about it, and I'd be willing to bet a lot of companies have no-competition clauses in their severance contracts.
