Welcome. This was the book that got me started in C and It was probably the first book that I actually understood what they were talking about.

Also sorry about not reading the 'How to post a question' thread, I kind of just blabed out the question in my post lol, I'll keep an eye next time
You didn't do anything wrong its just most newbies post without reading the rules and how to post a question. So we end up having to tell each and every one of them so please do read it but don't feel like you've made a mistake.

No he didn't but I told him up front to read it so he doesn't have to later and will get fast straight answers the first time.

Through my experience, the for Dummies books haven't been the greatest. But most books are good for some sort of reference material, but it is good to have a book that will teach you the basics first. I heard that Bruce Eckel's books are good, and you can get them for free at www.bruceeckel.com. I have a bought copy of Thinking in C++, although I haven't used it yet... I'm focusing on PHP/MySQL right now. I'm pretty sure that Bruce Eckel has a C book too, so try looking there.

Thanks for the recommendation MrMan, I'll add the name of the book to the list I have and look it up
