My dad has been getting more and more fed up with the way he files his photo's. He has been putting them in directories titled by the occasion which is fine for browsing but not very handy, for example if he wants to look find a picture of my brother.

So, he asked me (being a novice ASP programmer) if i could help him put together an application.

The catch: he doesn't have XP pro and is sceptical about bodging IIS to run on XP home edition and due to the nature of the application, it wouldnt be convenient for it to be hosted on the web.

So, i have put together a simple ASP appliction that pulls together files in a given directory and adds the file names to a database.
Labels can then be added to the photo's and they can be searched.

Which leaves me with the problem of getting the application to run on his machine.

I have 2 options:
1) Get him to buy XP pro and tun it on IIS
2) Learn a UI language that is capable of this and re-build it* - (i'm quite keen to give UI programming a go anyway)

*he uses XP home and i use 2k, not sure if this would cause problems building the app.

Any thoughts?
