reggaeton: don't steal someone's thread, 1) it's rude, 2) your likely to get comments like this.

OP: An easier way is to make a batch file that runs the command prompt and changes the directory for you. Then you can just type appletviewer source.html.
Easiest by far, but most time consuming in the long run, would be to open command prompt and type cd c:\directory\to\java\binaries\ then running appletviewer source.html

Well, I typed in appletviewer after changing the PATH variable, and it seemed to be working. but then when I type
appletviewer mysource.html
it just goes two lines down and gives me the prompt again--Nothing else comes up.

i'm sorry, i just didnt feel like making my own basically having the same question when it can be thrown in there.

Just get an Java IDE such as JBuilder. It runs applets with Applet Viewer.

It wasn't the same question at all...

Anyway, I've gotten used to using netBeans and I don't want to use another IDE at the same time. My computer is slow enough already. Does anybody have any clues to why appletviewer isn't working...?

That? I have been trying that; it gives me two blank lines and gives me the prompt again.
