Check your local college; if they don't have a class on PHP you can try C++. Since C++ and PHP have similar syntax, you probably won't have much of a problem making the transition. I found PHP.net has a list of recommended books on the subject: http://www.php.net/books.php Also PHP.net has a nice reference for all the language functions; I find this to be convenient and easy to read, they often also have several examples for each function there.
