Hey,
I've noticed that PF has an IRC channel. I've tried IRC in the past, but never found a really decent client that doesn't involve an investment. Anybody know anything pretty good that's platform-independent and doesn't cost a dime? Thanks. |

www.mirc.com or http://gaim.sourceforge.net/downloads.php <--- GAIM, for Windows and if your on Linux go for BitchX or X-Chat. X-Chat is available for Windows but it's not free. GAIM is really good because you can talk on almost any popular chat client out there, like MSN, AIM, Yahoo, as well as IRC.

I highly recommend X-Chat (xchat.org).
Check here for unofficial windows builds http://silenceisdefeat.org/~b0at/xchat/win32/ . I nabbed this from the wikipedia explaining the situation of charging money for the GPL'ed software: Quote:

GAIM on Windows - or any platform as an IRC client - is disgusting. It's a fairly good free IM client, but avoid it like the plauge for IRC use (trust me on this.)
I've used a fair amount of clients, HydraIRC, XChat, IRSSI, BitchX, PolarisX, etc. etc.. I can easily say that probably the best client for linux is IRSSI (awesome client, I use it on my SSH accounts and stuff), on Windows, I'd have to go with something like HydraIRC or PolarisX (BitchX is very very good too, getting used to a CLI based IRC client is somewhat hard, but it's really nice in the long run.) I can't wait until they get a stable IRSSI build on Windows that actually works - then I can die happy. |

mIRC for the win.. it's so cool, I use wine on Linux to use it.
<_< >_> I coded an IRC client in Python, but it had no GUI. xD |
