C++ help
I currently knnow Visual Basic (fairly well) and I want to start on C/C++. I want to know what the best, free compiler is for a beginner such as myself. I have a windows system, and any links to a good compiler would be most appreciated.

Dev-C++ is probably the best C/C++ compiler out there. But in the future please search google before asking here.

Microsoft's VC++ 2005 is also free. Dev-C++ is very good (was more standards compliant than the old VC++ 6.0 by a long shot), but VC++ is much better in terms of debugging ability and their compliance has risen considerably. I have Borland Builder 6, VC 6.0, VC 2005, and Dev-Cpp. I use 2005 the most.
