I'm not a programmer, but I was wondering if it would be possible for someone to make a little background program that would put my computer to lockdown when I closed the lid on my laptop computer?
Here is the command i wanted executed. rundll32 user32.dll LockWorkStation Note: Before anyone gives other options I do not want to use standby, hibernate, screen savers passwords, or the win + L. And the option isn't under window's power control options. I've looked everywhere for a program, or someway to do this, your my only hope. |

No, he wants the laptop to lock itself. If he's using WinXp with Fast User Switching, it's the equivalent of pressing Switch User. If not, it's the same as hitting Ctrl+Alt+Del and choosing Lock Workstation.

Maybe not I've been posting this at every forum I can find.
It is sad, no one has an answer for me. They always tell me to use standby but that cuts my internet connection and my downloads, or my screen saver but then it gets annoying to put my password in every time i'm away for awhile. Can't anyone write a simple little program? (you would think there would be one out there). |

Can I am getting progress here
Okay check out this site http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default....1ad0ec4.xml.asp I talks about detecting the lid close state "PO_CB_LID_SWITCH_STATE − Indicates that the lid switch has changed states" but I can't figure out is this like in C++ or visual basic or something? And this is what a friend told me "Basically, it looks like the event is available at the driver level, but not at the application level. So you have to write a driver to capture this callback, then pass it along, somehow, to an application which will do what you want." So it is at all possible to write something to do this? |
