I use netBeans, but mostly because I haven't really tried anything else. Makes my music skip when it compiles though, heh...

I downloaded Sun Java Studio Enterprise. Works and runs great now! I also have JCreator! Didn't like the other ones I download Eclispe 3.1.1, BlueJ, etc.

I guess I'm going to stick with Sun Java Studio Enterprise until something better comes along or my eyes open wider!

Once you're a little more familiar with Java, it wouldn't hurt to go back and look at the others again. Once you've found your way around the language you may find there's things that are helpful to you in the other editors that right now you don't really dig.

BlueJ is still the best editor for a newbie because it gives you some code to start with so that you don't make mistakes it also shows you exactly where the problem is... i don't believe textpad does.
