you could probably make a partition on your harddrive with the ISO information, and set it to bootable with a Live CD...

I don't know about booting the iso, but you can mount it using "Alcohol 120" and browse the files.

A decent (single layer) burner can be purchased on the cheap these days.

You dont need a burner at all. There are several great programs out there that will make virtual drives for you so you can mount an image and your computer reads it like there is actually a drive with a cd there.
I believe Alcohol 120 does it, I'm sure there are others. Its totally great though, I dont have a dvd drive either but I can load dvd isos and other things without having to actually burn anything.

you're using windows right?

on mac os and linux you can mount the ISOs without any freeware stuff, but with windows yeah you'll need alchohol 120% like Munsta said.

DAEMON Tools is another great virtual drive application. Make sure you uncheck the adware in the installation.
