Can somebody please help me? I posting this here cus I tough it was the best section to do so. Whats the result of this?

^2 = raised to the second power = exponent
12+3 / 36-4
15 / 31
use windows calc.

im pretty sure that the "\" was meant to be a "/"

You screwed up when you got to 12 + 3 / 36-4 where the 12+3 part isn't in parenthasize. You should do exponentiation, parenthasies, multiplication/division, THEN addition and subtraction.

The correct way would've had it 3 / 31, then of course add the result to 12. :/

actually i just did that on my graphics calculator and it resulted to 12 3/4 i could be wrong but thats what i get

It ends up being 12 + 3 \ 16, which is (if the division sign is the right way round) 12.

12 + 3 \ (6 - 2) ^ 2

12 + 3 \ (4) ^ 2

12 + 3 \ 16

Best thing ever taugh by my math teacher. Second Best: SOHCAHTOA for trig.

Yes, i know there should have been better things taught, but he wasn't a very good math teacher.
