Without out it your VB program would not run. VB either compiles or interprets on the fly into x86 assembly language, which is then assembled to machine code. There was a time when this had to be done manually (and lostcauz still does ).

True, but I think you know what I meant by my original comment: the dev environment is designed for programming in VB. Natch, the ultimate output is machine code.

Meaning it is very basic in terms of very visually appealing?

there are vb coding jobs, some places use it. but it sucks. and if you learn something BETTER (like...anything) then it will be easy to switch over to VB.
