Game Library

This is a game library (not a graphics library) that I wrote when I was thinking of making a game. It been sitting on my computer for a while so I might as well let someone try it. It currently handles 2D games aiding you with stuff like collision detection, animation, etc. I can't post the attachment because it's a bit too big (~48 KB) so if you want it just post your e-mail address and I'll send it on you're way. Man, I have so much software sitting around that I need to start putting it to use.

You know, one of the things that I like to do it to write software just to see how it all works then I end up letting it sit around. Most of the software that I write I never use!

I wanted to make a game when I started programming (I think all programmers do at one point). I have almost no interest in it anymore but send me a copy and I'll take a look. My email address is kaja.fumei@gmail.com If you want, I can host it on my website so you don't have to keep emailing it.

yeah, everyone thinks it's cool, until they find out how much it sucks...and from what i've heard from programmers the industry itself sucks too.

That's very true. You know, the funny thing is that I have never done any kind of graphics programming so the only way I actually tested the library to make sure it works is by using coordinate systems. The best part of the library is that it is 100% portable given that you implement the graphics and sound drivers. That's pretty easy. Given a library like Allegro or SDL or OpenGL that can be done in a matter of no time. I have never used the library. I have only tested it.

You mean the gaming industry? Yeah, I kind of agree with you. I'd rather do my own stuff than have someone do it for me and I have only few skills in the world of gaming. I actually wrote this library to sharpen some of my skills but I lost interest temporarily. Now I seem to be gaining interest in game programming.

Heh, I think thats the best part about game programming.. ok maybe second best besides being able to create fictional worlds. Other programs often take one type of programming.. database and windows, or network and website parsing, or something like that, but games (well.. depending on the type) or more of a complete package. If anyone knows the Myst story, the part about the books that basically create new worlds by writing into them, thats what I always thinkg about game programming as.

ok, aside from the blathering, I'd like to take a look at your library as well. Dunno if its like windows graphics or what but it'll be neat to take a look. My favorite way to learn is to take apart working source and change it until its unrecognizable
