One more thing, and I may have overlooked this detail if it has been given. Is the larger partition first on the hard drive, or is the smaller? Windows needs to be at the beginning of the hard disk, if I'm not mistaken.
To re-emphasize what's already been said; resizing a partition is just that, changing it's size. If you were to make the larger partition smaller by 5 gigs that 5 gigs would show as "free space" just as when you delete a partition that storage shows as free space. No partition will ever change size unless you specificly alter it's size. Just do as CD said and delete that small partition. Then when you follow his excellent tutorial the Slack setup will walk you through setting up the partitions that it requires. You'll be fine.
