Yes you make 2 other partitions, only make them how i have stated.
Basically they are:

Type| Filesystem| Size| bootable

Linux Swap| <swap>| <twice your RAM size>| yes
Linux| ReiserFS <or Ext3>| <rest of free disk space>| no

Nice tutorial, I'm sure loads of people will be grateful for it, especially if you manage to introduce some new users to linux.

If it helps one person out i will be happy, if it helps more than one ^_^ it would be awesome.
It's worth writing it if it converts anyone at all

(Asking a mod to move to tutorials so it won't just fall away and get lost when people stop posting in it)

Very nice. Send that to Volkerding and see if he'll use it as an official guide!

k, little more info please :-)

do you want to save your data on any of those partitions? if the answer is no, you can use cfdisk to delete and then recreate your partitions as you see fit. Then the slackware install will format them for you.

If you want to save your data re-formatting isn't a good idea.

Yep exactly what pizentios said, you can use cfdisk to delete any other partitions, but then you lose ALL data on them.
