Confused
Hi.. I'm new in programming industry..
I would like to know what should I start with and what would be good for web developer and a programmer and which language should I start with.. Thanks |

Hi and welcome to the forums...
With application programming I first started with VB but that isn't a pretty good choice. You could start with python, C ( or C++ ), since I find them very easy for a start. |

Well, I started with Pascal, but C is a good choice. It will give you a good programming base and style.

I hope his job isn't something that requires programming, I once knew this fool who almost got away with getting hired to program PHP/MySQL when he only knew HTML.

Welcome!
Maybe you should start with Python. It's easy, and once you know Python, you can start learning some more powerful language (C++, C#, Java...).

You can start from any decent mainstream language. For application development, this includes C, C++, C#, Java, Visual Basic .NET, Python... there's countless others, but those are some of the more popular ones. For web development, it's really a choice between PHP or ASP .NET - the other ones kinda suck.
