yeah and only use while/wend and for. that other crap doesn't even exist in the real world. (don't remember if the do loop is do-while or do until)

then what did you learn in the 3/4 of year? Placing buttons on the forms!
Loops are pretty begineer stuff. It should be in the first week or so.

i had that same exact thought process! yeah, there's not really a lot of ground to cover before you start dealing with loops.

That's odd - when we started Pascal in class last year, we did loops in our second week.

By the way, loops in Pascal suck - you get while-begin...end loops, and repeat...until loops. Who the hell came up with the syntax for these buggers?

yeah i saw VB had like 3 or 4 totally redundant looping constructs and i was like "fuck this"...then i took my midterm in VB and totally fucked up a bunch of stuff and my instructor gave me a 98 on the test (i'm assuming b/c of my programming projects and things i had mentioned in class).

"loop until" vs. "while"

in C++ just add a '!' charcter in your condition statement and you have removed the need for this crappy function being added to every damn VB prog you make.

i still respect BASIC as a language and i know it has it's uses, but in retrospect this is a horrible language for intro CS classes. we had 10 VB projects for the semester, i did the first 8 in the first couple weeks of class, but the last two require more info, so i have to wait.....arrrggghhhhhhh!!!!!!! but yeah, next semester i get to take a class (intro to C++) that introduces nothing new but using a "stack class". (final project). college is gay. and i have to work at mcdonald's full-time to pay for this.
