as long as you are not using mysql to handle the login passwords!

does /etc/passwd count as a database? Certainly not as a dbms, but as a database.

i would call the /etc/passwd a flatfile

ok, how about embedded software... the things in car and in your toaster... surely they are not implementing databases

IR hits the nail on the head. There are many more of those floating around than the other. I can name you dozens of programmers who never made a database connection, yet earned their employers millions of bucks.

A flatfile can be a database, yes, They were once much more common than now. Nowadays the term is usually taken to mean a "relational database", but that's not truly the case.

Thanks IR sir.
I actually did not think of embedded software ....
Also, our practical sessions in our computer LAB have been stopped for some reasons. I cannot access the LAB for some days. If possible, kindly confirm the check constraint.

Also, Dawei sir, I read about pointers from your website.
Can u elaborate more on "relational database" and why it isn't true

There is no requirement that the data be in separate tables with well defined interrelationships for the definition to apply. It just generally tends to be more efficient and robust that way.

Yes you got my question right. I did try this method as well, but even it returned the same error.

However, I have made a post that I have got the answer.
Check the link in my previous answer.
However, I am not able to access my computer LAB. Hence, if u could try that out and let me know I wud be satisfied.
