Ive just read your rule 14- Dont give us your homework to do, sorry didnt realise that rule to now but ive now got the calculator working.

So have I already broken the rule or not, as I think I just asked for a pointer on the subject.

It's fine to ask for general tips, maybe even some pseudo-code. The fact is, you'll get better responses if you show work and ask for help. The help is free; most people like to see that you've broken some sweat before they bust their butt for you.

I agree with DaWei, we like to see the initial effort. Glad you got it working.

that "downgrading" scheme sucks. isn't that what the hell the teachers are paid to do? you're not REALLY supposed to anything "all by yourself" at school. does the instructor not teach class? does he just hand out a syllabus and collect homework? god, remember, (ignorant american here assuming you're paying for school) you're the customer. anyways, congrats and good luck!

I would have thought the fact that someone was asking pertinent questions was a good thing, showing they were focused and involved, and finding the subject a healthy challenge.

And where's this rule 14 you speak of? I thought PF was a free for all
