i have no programming experience except with web related things. i won't detail my idea yet, i will just give you the basics and you see if you like it. basically, it is a program that you can download onto your computer, and when you open it up and choose your nickname and what not, you see a main chat room next to a list of users and above that, a list of sub chat rooms. when one enters a sub chat room, there is a radio feature above an area to talk which is next to the user list of that room. basically you get to talk about anything, including the music you are hearing. users who start a radio room select MP3s or a CD to stream off of their computer (they also act as the server).

Good idea i think, but bad in practice as people dont have the uplaod capacity at the minute to do things like this.

Welcome to the forum!
The idea is good. However, as Berto states... the upload capacity is not sufficient for some potential users. I personally do not want to listen to an mp3 stream off of a user with 56k. Nor would I want to listen to a mp3 stream with 56k (although I do have extreme DSL broadband). Perhaps, the streaming component to check to see if the user has the upload ratios to handle this before allowing them to stream. Otherwise, just display the song they are listening to locally, possibly have it connect to a database of links somewhere, so people can DL it or buy the cd.
