eVC++ 4.0 installation problems

After installing eVC++ 4.0 compiler on XP Pro and the Pocket PC 2003 SDK, when I click the compiler's icon to start it, it produces this error
Quote:
"Microsoft eMbedded Visual C++ has discovered no CE platform SDK installed on the desktop. Please install at least one CE platform SDK befor elaunching Microsoft Vicual c++"
Well, this all worked well when my computer was running Windows 2000. The other day the boss decided I needed to upgrade to XP, so now I can't even run the compiler. I checked Add/Remove Programs and it says everything is installed. I have Administrator privaledges, so I don't think that is the problem either. The registry appears to have been set correctly.

Any other ideas??

Thanks

Wow, Dragon, I don't know. I've only ever had it on XP (Home). I had 3 also but deep-sixed it. If there are any registry entries or IDE configuration items you want to know about, let me know.

It appears that the problem is XP SP 2. I have one computer with XP Pro XP2 and another without SP2. The one without SP2 works ok, but the other one doesn't. I did some googling and found several other people reporting the same identical problem, but I never found the solution, if there is one.

I have SP2, but I do have Home, rather than Pro. SP2 was added AFTER I had EVC4, though.
