C++ is good for Object Oriented programming.
Ofcource, you need some decipline unlike in Java. However it is much faster than Java.

You can do so may things with C++. Do google for C++ open source projects and you will be able to pick some like http://ws.apache.org/axis/cpp/ and contribute

C++ can be used for anything you have your mind set on. Just think something up and code it.

Oh, sorry, this made me laugh out loud, mister "seasoned Forum Admin" or whatever you call yourself.
You know there's a little thing called "Find all posts by <...>" care to check that out before you say something about others here [edit] and make a laughingstock out of yourself [/edit]? even better the web-sites of member's profiles.

Tecster, what is your motive? Inquiring minds want to know. You claim 10 years of HTML but you have a post here that you're just NOW learning CSS? It gives you some way to put something in the upper-left corner, oh wow! You come over to give Big K the "benefit" of your astounding knowledge and experience? I'm just waiting to avail myself of the benefit of your 20 years programming experience in the programming forums!

DaWei and tecster, if you 2 are gonna have a slagging match please dont do it in these forums use the lounge or debate ones this is someones post asking a question and it isnt very helpul to them if all they see if you 2 going for it.

Back to the topic, as IR said it can be used for anything, just start small and keep working away.
